Chapter 338 Haunting at Fourth Mental Hospital

Wade continued browsing the forum, reciting as he did so,

"The schizophrenic patient saw everyone around him as mutated, giant rats that wanted to eat him. On that day, he killed his own family with an axe, from his 80-year-old grandmother to his 3-year-old niece."

"His brother, sister-in-law, niece, parents, and grandmother were all killed."

"After the patient was subdued, he was sent to our Fourth Hospital for treatment. He was diagnosed with severe delusions and claimed throughout his treatment that his brother's family was not dead and that they were all around him, ready to help him kill the mutated rats."

"One night while I was on duty, the schizophrenic suddenly appeared before me, smiling in an eerie way. I don't know why, but I heard strange laughter from others around me, although I couldn't see anyone else..."

"I was terrified and called for help to restrain him. He was given a shot and taken back to his room."

"Since then, whenever we work the night shift, we hear strange laughter behind us from time to time..."

Wade stopped reading and shuddered. He was now in the Fourth Hospital and felt cold all over.

He could almost hear the strange laughter too, and he couldn't help but tremble.

Susie turned her head to look inside the hospital, and Lucy was listening to the story with excitement, urging Wade to continue, "And then? Three brothers, don't tremble, keep going!"

Wade swallowed and continued reading,

"On that night, I was walking down the corridor as usual when I suddenly heard the sound of something dragging on the ground. I turned around and saw the same schizophrenic patient staring at me with his eerie smile."

"He ran towards me with an axe in his hand, and although I wanted to run, I heard strange laughter in my ear again and my whole body froze..."

"I don't know how, but my colleagues rushed over and tried to subdue the schizophrenic patient. However, he was extremely vicious and injured two of my colleagues with his axe. We couldn't fight him, so we had to retreat to the office and lock the door."

"The patient was chopping the door with his axe from outside, but luckily the office door was made of iron and the window was made of bulletproof glass... Then, a nightmare-like scene unfolded..."

Wade's eyes scanned the next few lines of text, and he broke out in a cold sweat.

Lucy was scared but couldn't help wanting to hear more, holding onto Susie's arm and urging Wade, "And then? And then?!"

Wade's lips trembled. "Through the glass, I saw the schizophrenic suddenly lift his axe and chop at his neck, again and again, as if it wasn't his own neck. He chopped while still wearing that eerie smile on his face... He didn't stop even when his neck was almost severed..."

At this point, Wade was so scared that he threw his phone to his brother. Lucy hugged Susie and whimpered, "It's so scary, so our visit to this hospital is like a big horror adventure?"

Lucy didn't see any ghosts and thought his brothers were playing a horror game, intentionally telling scary stories in an abandoned mental hospital to scare people. She wasn't afraid, not at all! Lucy held onto Susie, but in an instant, she felt like she had lost all her courage.

"Then what happened? Keep going, Third Brother, don't chicken out!" Hamza glanced at the last few lines on the forum and summarized it succinctly, "Later on, a fire in the Fourth Hospital killed several people, and the blogger telling this story was rescued. Firefighters found that the fire was caused by old and faulty wiring."

The narrator's account ended there, and many people below said that they didn't believe it and thought it was fabricated. Lucy was stunned. "Is that it?"

Hamza handed the phone back to Wade and said lightly, "That's it." As long as he remained calm and collected, he would still be the reliable big brother!

Lucy, however, looked disappointed and scoffed, "That's all?"

Suddenly, Susie shushed them, "Listen, there's a noise." The children fell silent, and at the end of the empty, abandoned hospital hallway, they could faintly hear strange laughter.

There was the innocent laughter of children playing a fun game, slightly hoarse giggles, deep laughter of middle-aged men, and light laughter of young women.

Hamza's back stiffened, and Wade felt his scalp tingle as his hair stood on end.

Lucy looked puzzled, "What? I don't hear anything!"

Mitch sat cross-legged in mid-air, uninterested. "Just lost souls and ghosts. Juicy, let's collect them all." Ordinary lost souls and ghosts didn't matter, but these few were obviously harmful to humans, so they had to be collected.

Susie said cheerfully, "Okay~" and ran inside without a second thought.

The two brothers were dumbfounded, "!!!"

Wade hurriedly caught up and said, "Sister, wait for me..."

Lucy saw Susie running and followed her, "Wait for me, wait for me!"

Hamza was silent for a moment, looked around nervously, and finally decided to follow them. Following Susie was better than staying here.

Just as Hamza took a step forward, the always silent Zion asked, "What kind of mental patient? Are you sure he killed his own family?"

Hamza glanced at him and said, "You should go to the hospital for a check-up at some point."

After speaking, he went in.

When Wade recited that passage just now, Zion was the calmest, and his eyelids didn't even lift. He originally thought Zion was the bravest, but he didn't expect that it was just a reflex.

Thinking this, Hamza saw Zion quickly catch up, as if it were an instinct. He just felt strange.

Little did he know, Zion and Susie were really scared during the days they stayed at the Peach Blossom Inn. Although his nerve reflex didn't keep up, his instinctive reaction did, and he followed his sister first when something happened.

The group of kids walked inside, following the laughter, climbing the stairs, and arriving on the third floor.

There was an abandoned nurse's station, covered in dust, with scattered half-chairs and burnt black iron frames.

The walls and floors were blackened, and it seemed to be the site of a fire years ago.

The laughter came from behind a nurse's station, blocked by a large pillar.

"*chuckles*..."

"*giggles*..."

The three older brothers unconsciously clung to Susie.

Wade said, "Sister, I'm scared. Let's go back..."

Zion remained silent.

Hamza said coldly, "Cowards. Can't a man have some courage?"

Wade glanced at his brother. As long as you were thirty centimeters away from his sister, he believed in you!
